I am a native of Carter County and grew up in the Stoney Creek community. After graduating from Unaka High School, I attended East Tennessee State University where I received a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice & criminology in 2003 graduating magna cum laude, and a Master of Arts degree in criminal justice & criminology in 2004. I then worked as a police officer for the City of Kingsport, Tennessee for approximately four years before returning to law school. I received a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the University of Mississippi "Ole Miss" School of Law, graduating summa cum laude and ranked 5th overall in my class in 2011. After graduation I returned home to Elizabethton and joined the law firm of Keith Bowers, Jr. & Associates and subsequently became a partner in the firm of Bowers & Hardin. I have been a solo practitioner since 2014, in addition to serving as the County Attorney for Carter County, Tennessee, Delinquent Tax Attorney for Carter County, Tennessee, City Attorney for the City of Watauga, Tennessee and general counsel for the First Utility District of Carter County and the Watauga River Regional Water Authority.
I am licensed to practice law in all state courts in Tennessee and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee.
